Gentlemen, i need your help, i am now expecting someone give me some guidance regarding the below case!one pressure vessel has 3 chambers, shell, coil and fire tube, pressure for fire tube and shell is ATM, and the point is coil, design pressure for which is 38MPa, and the coil is to be "U" stamped, i noticed U-1(d), but i totally have no diea what the vendor should do , do they have to add some calculation?
someone told me in some states of USA,it is very difficult to register such equipement. but this vessel is to be installed in IRAQ, i do not know if such problem exist there?
i am now in need of guidance, your kindly reply will be highly appreciated! thanks, gentlemen!

I think you may refer to some para about the jacket vessel, such half pipe or others type.

Hello Fred,

Your coil can be U-stamped when all requirements of the Code have been met. However, of course you have to think about the validity of the given design rules for such a high pressure. E.g. temperature gradients have to be considered since of the required wall thickness. This in combination with the bend radius of the coil will require a more detailed analysis than a straight pipe at 0.1 MPa.
Moreover you have to think about more NDE and so on. Your first contact point should be your AI, since he has to be satisfied with the "additions" according to U-2(g).

Fred,
You will have a lot of stress coming from Bourdon effect, don't forget to take it under consideration.
