For our upcomming review for the "U" stamp (DIV I) we are looking into buying a densitometer. (if too expensive we will have to borrow one)

Can somebody please point me to (cheap/ affordable) some brands / model numbers.
I have seen prices range from 400 to 4000 US Dollar.

Thank you,

Berend

Berend,
Who is performing your radiography ?
If it is a third party they should be supplying their own densitometer.
If you as the Manufacturer are performing your own radiography then you should not be performing radiography without a densitometer.
How can you measure the density of your radiographs without a densitometer ?
Regards,
BB

T-262.2 a Step Wedge Comparison Film.
It is not very accurate, nor easy to work with, I quitted to use it 20 years ago....but the Code accepts it.

Mauro,
T-262.2 requires a Step Wedge Comparison Film to be verified before use with a Densitometer (unless performed by the manufacturer).
How does he do that if he doesn't have a densitometer ?

"Prior to first use" it means it shall be calibrated, as any instrument affecting quality.

Mauro,
How do you calibrate the step wedge if you don't have a densitometer ?

The same way you calibrate all instruments: if you have the master (calibrated densitometer), well, otherwise have it calibrated by an organization who has the master.
