There is no such thing as a best software, except for brains.
The most suitable software depends on the purpose, pipe stress, vessel stress, fatigue analysis, flange design, ot thermal design??

My experience: Do not believe what the program distributors are promising.

If you refer to the 1994 Edition of NQA-1, Supplement 3S1 has some beautiful words about VERIFICATION of computer progeams and VALIDATION of computer models. Both are the responsibility of the program USER (not distributor).
The Quality Assurance program shall provide for documented evidence of verification and validation in order to meet Code.

When a prograam has passed this gate, it is suitable.

Your ANI or ANIS should be able to give guidance.

Rakesh,
I would like to point your attention to the fact that it is usually necessary to tell primary stresses from the secondary ones. Ask your software salesman how their software does it and whether it passes some generally recognised benchmarks, like the ones that Nafems publish. It is also quite important how the software manages non-linear behaviour of the structure, particularily in various buckling modes. Decent fatigue and creep analysis capabilities are of a great importance too.

PS has anyone seen any use of free software like CAELinux in this field?
