Dear all,

Are the standard ANSI/ASME N45.2 and its daughters (N45.2.6 and N45.2.23) in force? If they are obsolete, which is the official document that supersedes these standards? Where are the references about this change?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It is in force if referenced in the QA program, and will depend on the whether a commitment to the governing Regulatory Authority exists to implement the N45.2 standard as described in the QA Program..

Please read Appendix A of Revision 4 to Regulatory Guide 1.28 issued 06/2010 by the NRC found at the link below:
http://adamswebsearch2.nrc.gov/idmws/Vi ... L100160003

Keep this in mind.....The NRC withdrew several Regulatory Guides related to QA over the years. But. the withdrawal of a Regulatory Guide does not alter any prior or existing licensee commitments based on the use of a withdrawn Regulatory Guide. Licensees with prior or existing commitments to a withdrawn standard(s) may continue to implement those provisions or revise their commitments to adopt an acceptable version of the ASME NQA-1 standard

LARR,

10CFR50.55a Codes and Standards paragraph 50.55a(b)(1)(iv). Quality Assurance. When applying editions and addenda later than the 1989 Edition of Section III, the requirements of NQA-1 "Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facilities," 1986 Edition through 1992 Edition, are acceptable for use provided that the edition and addenda of NQA-1 specified in NCA-4000 is used in conjunction with the administrative, quality, and technical provisions contained in the edition and addenda of Section III being used.

There you have it. Mandated by 10CFR50.55a
