Hello All,
one question. One of our BIG chemical manufacturer demand for every App.2 calculation the bolting up moments (clamping torque) of the bolts.
:shock:
In AD 2000 I know what is to do (VDI 2230, coefficient of fricttion, tightening factor). But what use the people in USA?

Hello Frank,
there are no specific rules regarding your problem in the ASME Code (Appendix 2). Therefore you can use the procedure you have described.
