Quote of UG84 (b)
"Impact test procedures and apparatus shall conform to the applicable paragraphs of SA-370 or ISO 148 (Parts 1,2 and 3)."
My Question:
Is a calibration of an impact testing machine acc. to ISO 148 satisfactory and will be accepted for inspection acc. ASME Sec. III Div?
Or, is it still necessacry to calibrate the impact testing machine (inkl. hammer) acc. ASTM E 23 to fulfill the requirements of the complete ASME Code (incl. Sec I, Section II Part A, Section III, , ASME Section VIII Div. 1,2,3)

It is a requirement of UG-84(b)(1) only
not in Section III: read below
NB-2321.2 Charpy V‑Notch Tests. The Charpy
V‑notch test (Cv), when required, shall be performed in
accordance with SA-370.
