Dear all,

As per Codecase 2260-1, we can use formulas mentioned in above code case to calculate thk against internal pressure for torispherical heads instead of using UG-32 and appendix 1-4.

Please explain the logic behind this code case.

(Since using App 1-4 i get req thickness tr = 9.71 mm & using Codecase req thickness tr = 6.3 mm)

Please help.

The code case provides alternative design rules. These rules result in a higher strain, therefore there are some limitations in it's use:
-Limited fatigue life
-Limited design temperature
-Not for UCI and UCD heads
