Sir,
I am facing one case, in the toungue and groove body flange; the Spiral wound gasket is used with inner and outer ring.
can we use this configuiration? Flange id is 1700mm

or do we have to used it without outer ring (centering ring ).

Hi,
I suggest to use gasket only with inner ring (for stiffening). Gasket will be centered inside the groove. If you use outer ring you will need to increase flage dimensions (bolt circle, outside dim.) what in consequences will lead to thicker flanges.
Additionally, for such dimensions (ID1700), I would recommend grooved gasket with soft layers (eg. graphite) - called camprofile, instead of spiral wound. It is capable to withstand higer stresses and has better elastic return of thickness than spiral wound types.

regards,
malyl.
