Dear all,

Due to shortage availability, we are seeking to exchange ASME material standard with other standard i.e EN. My question, is it allowed to make such substitution while keep complying with ASME Code???

Thank you in advance,

Sayed

Sayed,

Material for a Boiler shall be certified to a SPecification that is permitted according to PG-4 thru PG-11.
There is only one way to use non-ASME material and that is "recertification" per PG-10, and certifying the material to a permitted specification.

It is strogly advised to consult the Authorized Inspector involved, because he needs to review and accept such recertification.
