Hi all,

is it allowed to use explosion cladded steel (e.g. SA 515-70 cladded with UNS N 06059) for the body of an agitator vessel, which is classified in lethal service? In this case the nozzles will be done in solid N 06059, so that no loose lining is inside the vessel.

Thanks in advance for responding.

Don't think that requirement for type of cladding is indicated in code (ASME or BS).

Generally this requirement is governed by user specification.

As such loose lining is also used for equipment made up of Ti Clad. Loose lining is however not recommended if the equipment is operating under -ve pressure.

Regards

Sanjeev
