density outside the range of 4.0

Dear gentlemen,
i have a question, if film is readable with proper review equipment, however, the density beyond the range 4.0, is it acceptable to ASME SEC V, if there is such statement, kindly please tell me where, thank you all very much, your kindly reply will be highly appreciated!

Fred,

Films with density over 4 in the area of interest may not be used to fulfil Code required RT.
