 Post subject: Design of Crude oil filter

Dear,
I want to design the crude oil filter as per ASME sec.VIII Div.1 but client has not given any size/dimension for the same.

In data sheet, Operating Flow rate is 1086.1 m3/h mentiined.
Other dta as follows :
Design Pressre : 58.6 bars
Design Temp. : -3 to 93 deg C
MOC : SA 516 GR.70 N
Type : Verticle

I need to finalized the overall dimension for the filter. Can i findout with the help of operating flowrate or not?
Or what are another option?

JORDOS,

Probably you need to contact filter suppliers for the equipment sizing since equipment/ Filter housing size not only depends on Operating fluid and conditions but also on the filter elements which are Proprietary for each filter manufacturer.

Few vendor catalogue gives sizing estimation for standard flow rates/ operating conditions and process media and can be used for size estimation
