What the hub length, h, we must to take for integral type flanges with go=g1 (Fig. 4.16.1.1(b)) in the flange design procedure (p. 4.16.7.2) in step 3? This parameter is using for determine the flange stress factors with using the equations in Table 4.16.4 and 4.16.5.

Hello Grig,

The procedure for the calculation of flanges in the new Div. 2 is the same as in the existing Div. 1. Unfortunately/fortunately they changed it into a more user-friendly form, in other words: made it easier for the programmers to put it into a computer program. That´s the reason, why they ommitted the diagrams for the determination of the intergral flange factors F and V. The formulas should be enough. But here you need the value h which you don´t have. However, a short glance in the old diagrams in VIII-1 will show you that the values for F and V are independent from h if g0 = g1, namely F = 0,908920 and V = 0,550103.
