I have to weld a Nozzle -- SET ON NOZZLE as per UW 16.1(a) & UW 16.1(a-1).
Nozzle thickness is 25 mm
Cover plate thickness is 115 mm

My query is Do I need to consider Cover plate thickness to select WPS. My weld thickness will be as per Nozzle thickness.

What should be the range of WPS I need to select for welding. There is no PWHT on vessel and no impact requirement.

you need to consider both base metal thickness. if you select a PQR which is qualified on >38mm can be supported for this WPS (refer QW 202.4 (a) and (b) (2)
