Hello!
Please help to understand.
Program COMPRESS can calculate an element of a vessel shown on image.
Tell in what standard (code) this calculation is described?

That's the beauty of using this sort of programs: people usually don't know what are they doing. Usually they don't ask neither. But since you are interested: why don't you contact the customer support at Compress and find out? It can be taken directly from some general-purpose mechanical handbook, such as Roark and Young, but may be derived by the authors of the software from common tension and shear formulae. Anyway, SecVIII-1 doesn't have any conditions to such stuff other than UG-82 and the welding requirements.

PS It says something about WRC 107. I don't have it, so I can't check it- but maybe it's from that?
