i have a question about F.E.M. : when in ASME 2 is mandatory to use F.E.M. ?

Hi Bernini,
In general you have the choice between Design by Rule or Analysis. However, when there are no design rules given in Part 4 or it refers directly to Part 5 you have to use Design by Analysis.
