My question regards flange hub length, variable "h" in Sect VIII Div 1 App. 2. Figure 2-4(5) shows an integral flange, g1=g0, with a fillet transition of radius r between the flange ring and the integral nozzle neck, but no tapering hub. Unlike details 6-7 of Fig 2-4, detail 5 does not show a dimension for "h".
So what is "h" for a Fig 2-4(5) flange?
I don't think h can be zero. Figures 2-7.2 (Values for F) and 2-7.3 (Values for V) don't allow for the possibility of h=0. VIII Div 1 para 2-7(a) [calculation of flange stresses] give formulas for SH, SR, and ST "for integral type flanges [Fig2-4 sketches (5)...]" which clearly implies to me that SH, SR and ST are defined for a sketch 5 flange, which requires an h.
Thanks in advance for your clarifying remarks
