Dear all,

I have to design a gasketed joint of a shell & tube heat exchanger using a Dynagraph Gasket.

Could someone let me know this gasket values ( m & y ) to consider in calculating my flanges ?

Thanks and regards

Gengi,

ASME Sec VIII Div 1, appendix 2, table 2-5.1 provides you m & y factors for different type of gasket.

It would be however better to contact gasket manufacturer to get sctual m & y factors.

Dearsanjeev_shukla70,

as per your suggestion, I contacted the gaskets manufacturer (Leader Global Technologies) and immediately I got from them the requested values for Dynagraph gasket with stainless steel core.

For your and everybody info the values are:

Y= 5000 psi
m= 3

They said also that, the values suggested by ASME VII Div.1 Appendix 2 for the corrugated gaskets are as well suitable.

regards

gengi
