Jeff,

Is Hastelloy not Corrosion Resistant overlay rather than hard facing?

Anyway, section IX has got the variables in the tables of QW-250.
Thickness and test requirements can be read in QW-453,

Hi Dk,

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, you are right. It is for Corrosion Resistant. I knew the Code. I am just hoping to get some sample to fill the WPS and PQR. I never work with this kind of WPS before. Thank you anyway.

All the best

Jeff

copied wrong information. Dr. Koelbl provides good information. If you need some specific advice let us know. Neither hardfacing overlay nor corrosion resistant overlay are very complex when compared to some other qualifications.

Good luck Jeff!

Thank you Jon,

Yes, I do need a sample PQR and WPS for Corrosion resistant overlay. I know whatever spelled out on code though, I didn't have any practical experience in the aspect of overlay. I was hoping a gentleman could kindly share a real sample with me, so I can figure out everything throughly.

Thank you and have a wonderful day

Jeff

Tony,

sorry there is no sample WPS on file that I could send. Usually confidentiallity does not permit to share them.
Also the variety of variables and possible details is so huge, it would be rather distracting for you to look at other Mfr's papers.

I join Jon in recommending: Just sit down and write a WPS draft with the variables of QW-250 for the process and thickness you intend to use. Then think about the test coupon, draft your PQR, and then revise the WPS for the possible scope.

If you post your steps here, I am sure you will get many comments.

Hi Dr. K,

I really appreciate your offer. Still, I feel a sample will save lots of time for both of us. I just want the main body of the procedure for reference. If somebody has it, please cover the title and the signature or whatsoever then email to me. Thanks.

Jeff

Hey Jeff, before your Smiley turns green, why don't you just sit down and try your luck with the forms from the download area of the page and the Code book. If you got a nice AI in the area, ask him for help, or contact your weld metal manufacturer for the weld material.
