If I were to write a WPS for hardfacing with L605 on to 304 in accordance with ASME IX. What would the F number and the A number be for these? Any help is welcomed. This is not job related , im trying to get well versed in ASME and I admit I could not figure this out.

Sorry for not responding soon.

The information for the material UNS R30605 you requested was not listed under QW-430 Title F-Numbers of ASME Section IX, 2007 Edition.

L605 can be qualified as L605, it will limit you to only using that material, can not use any other material for hardfacing. If it is in the AWS Specs it will eventually be adopted by ASME also and that will give you freedom to use all materials in the F No: specified for L605. There may also be a code case down the road that will allow its usage under the UNS number.
