hai all,
i have a bit confusing about the hardness testing method. how many method for hardness testing?
my client asked me about it, and they have rejected our hardness report because we performed hardness test brinell method. our client requirements is shall be use telebrinell or krautkramer MIC-10.
is it the brinell method similar to telebrinell method and krautkramer MIC-10?
kindly please advise me.
regards,

Clearly telebrinell or krautkramer MIC-10 are brand names for electronic methods of reading harness. Brinell is based upon an hard sphere which subject to a given force partially penetrates the sample and the reading of the diameter of the print on the sample gives the Brinell value. Other methods use different shape penetrators and measure the print or the depth of the penetrator. Electronic systems usually measure the frequency of bouncing of a small cylinder the tip of which is tossed against the sample. There are tables of conversion reasonably reliable. Telebrinell or Krautkramer MIC-10 will give the result in Brinell hardness thanks to these tables becaude the method is not strictly a Brinell method, as explained above.
