Dear All

We have recently designed and fabricated an exchanger of low alloy steel (1.25Cr & 0.5 Mo) by an foriegn vendor. We have performed the hardness check of the welds upon the arrival of the exchanger at the site. The value of hardness recorded for tube to tubesheet joint was excedeed(168 HB) its reference vaue (115HB).

Can we accept this value. If not, what should be the remedial actions.

Waiting for urgent reply.

Regards

There is something wrong in the values reported. i would expect 180 minimum, most likely 200 - 220 HB
Verify please.
Regards.
