Hi,
Due to some operating reasons, there is need to increase temperature which will be above design. This higher temperature will be only for max. 15min.
After checking calculations with new temperature, actual shell thickness of some in-service equipment is not enough. Are there any standards (like API 579 - Fitness for Service), which allow us to use equipment for a short time with operating parameters above design conditions?

regards,
malyl

Its a problem which is sometimes faced by many designed due to operational plant requirements.

I would simply suggest you to check all the components of new operating conditions.

However, since no data regarding material/ temperature/ years of service is presented in your query. I would suggest you to compare the materials allowabale stress values at new and existing temperatures.

Hi,
I've mentioned in my post above, it has been checked and the stresses are above allowable.
Do we have another possibility except to lower parameters?

regards,
malyl.
