Referring to 6.8.2.2 of B 16.5, the hub dimension shall be same as those of the standard flange of the size to which the reduction is being made.

The query is whether the hub dimension refers to Y or Y-tf. (Please note that thickness will correspond to the standard flange of size from which reduction is being made and will be more than tf of the smaller size).

We interpret as Y- tf should be equal to the corresponding value of the smaller size to whcih reduction is made. Is it OK?

or we can take Y alone from the smaller size and Y-tf can come based on tf chosen for the larger end?

Thanking You in advance for the clarification
