"The procedure qualification test shall be subjected to PWHT essentially equivalent to that encountered in the fabrication of production welds , including at least 80%of the aggregate times at temperature(s). The PWHT total time(s) at temperature(s) may be applied in one heating cycle."

There are two comprehension,Which one is correct?or other comprehension?
1.This paragraph is only used to guide the assessment process required PWHT, the heat treatment procedure qualification is only assessed in the heat-treatment time calculation method (formula, such as in Table NB-4622.1-1, ... ...) .
2. (For example) process evaluation, used the base metal P-NO.1, wall thickness 1in, PWHT with 1hr, after passing the assessment, which covers the range of 3 / 16 ~ 1.25in, but the heat times are 1hr.
Thank you for your help!

The paragraph quoted is QW-407.2. It is a supplementary essential variable and it is to be used only when impact testing is required by the Code of construction. Otherwise FORGET IT.
