Please tell me with respect to radiography (RT) and ultrasonic testing (UT), that if former cannot be applied to a joint for eg nozzle in my case, should i go for UT.

Also according to my understanding, after welding of nozzles with the shell, radiograpy is recommended and later the heat treatment for stress relieving.

If radiograpy cannot be performed what is reference in code to exempt or go for UT (or is there any white paper available on general information on RT, UT and Heat treatment so that i can read and understand)

Yes but probably the welds he talking are Cat -D FULL PENETRATION CORNER WELDS which need not to be radiographed.

Osama, look at Fig. UW-16.1 and tell what is your nozzle arrangement. Also why are you considering any NDE? Which requirement are you trying to follow?

Fig. UW-16.1 (c) is my nozzle arrangement. Our client is asking to perform UT as the same exchager is a BFW Preheater. I understand that the corner joint is not radiographed as per Gonzaga and Konrad.

Please tell how should i convince them ?

A very simple question, don't be afraid to ask it: Why are they confident that you should do something? Can they point their finger in the book and show? When you are quoting a price which covers filfillment the requirements of the Code- any additional actions would normally mean additional cost to cover.
