hello, new here and first post. I'm designing an internal flat head in a 42" dia. vessel, 60 PSIG either side. It has a rectangular opening in the center(4" x 24"). UG-34(f). I'm looking at UG-39(c)(3) since the opening is not circular. It states "there are no rules given". States the requirements of U-2(g) shall be met? I can find no reference to "U-2", Can someone tell me where to look? thank you, steve

Steve, is there a reason why you want to design it as a pressurised part? Does it have different pressures on both sides?

akonrad, yes, cust is testing some type of internal seal to hold press either side, they have now asked for 15 PSI either side instead of the 60PSI. I did find the "U2" ref in my book, someone had moved the pages.
