ASME Section V states that the
Code:
T 276.2: The designated hole IQI or essential wire
shall be as specified in Table T-276.
But in ASME SE 94 it is given as
Code:
6.2:The quality level usually required for radiography is 2%
which one is to be followed? Why?

You should not read the referenced Code Section "per se". Referenced Code Sections like Sect.V shall be considered when and how they are called by the Construction Code Section.
E.g. Sect. VIII Div.1 refers to RT in UW-51. It calls for Art.2 of Sect.V.

Let me Chime in on this for my own understanding of the relationship between ASME Section V T 276.2 and ASME SE 94 .
You (Mauro)have said “You should not read the referenced Code Section "per se". dose this mean it should not be “used in any way” it is for Knowledge purposes only.
SO….When VIII Div.1 refers to RT and calls for UW-51. It sends me to Art.2 of Sect.V.
from there I select my penny or wire.

Now back to the original question
The poster seems to think that there is a difference between 2% and the selection of pennies or wires.
I may not have this right so please correct me if its wrong………

The 2 % stated in SE 94 has to do with the subjects thickness ( and the tequniques ability to detect a 2% change in thickness ) but the selection of an IQI is still based off the information in the table from sec V, correct?

In ASME SEC V TABLE T-276 no matter what thickness or corresponding hole designation is used the result would be 2% radiographic quality lvl if the 2-2t hole is visible?

I APPRECIATE THE REFERENCE TO SE 194: IT MAY BE USEFUL FOR GENERAL BACKGROUND.
BUT SELECTION OF IQI IN SECT.VIII/DIV.1 IS FROM TABLE T-276. SECT.III (NUCLEAR) ALSO REFERS TO ART.2 BUT TABLE T-276 IS SUBSTITUTED BY A SPECIFIC ONE WHICH REQUIRES SMALLER (APPROX. 1 STEP OR NUMBER LESS) IQI TO BE SEEN.

In ASME SEC V TABLE T-276 no matter what thickness or corresponding hole designation is used the result would be 2% radiographic quality lvl if the 2-2t hole is visible?
IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM AS A SECT.VIII/DIV.1 USER.
