When the Code of construction requires Examiners to be certified in accordance with written Practice based on SNT TC 1A: read SNT TC 1A (2006) Para 4.3.3. (Level III Examiner's duties)

ASAM,

The Code dos not require Level III approval of NDE procedures, at lease I did not fund such sentence.

What the Code does require is a Written Practice and a Quality Program. The Q program shall specify WHO approves NDE procedures, and the WP shall establish the duties and responsibilities of the Level III.
Many manual requires LevelIII to approve NDE prosedures. The manufacurer can establish that the LIII prepares the procedures and the Managing Director approves them, no problem.

Where I work, I am the Level III (VT), but all procedures were written and approved by the same PE. I wrote the VT procedure and turned it in for review and he just just put his name on it as being written and approved by him?........Can they do that?
