WE HAVE PURCHASED FORGINGS FROM KOREA .THE FORGING TESTING WAS WITNESSED BY LLOYDS.ALL THE FORGINGS WERE TENSILE TESTED AT KOREA.
WHEN WE CARRY OUT TENSILE TESTING AT OUR END WE FOUND THAT THE FORGINS WERE HAVING LOWER TENSILE STRENGTH THAN WHAT THE KOREAN SUPPLIER MENTIONED IN HIS TEST CERTIFICATE. THE YIELD WAS OK. CHEMICAL WAS OK.
WHEN WE ANALYSED WE FOUND THAT SUPPLIER HAS CARRIED OUT NORMALISING FOR ALL THE FORGINGS WITH SAME SOAKING TIME (7.5 HOURS).THE FORGING WAS HAVING THICKNESS RANGE FROM 20 MM. TO 400 MM.
IS IT CORRECT TO GIVE SAME SOAKING TEMPERATURE TO ALL THE FORGINGS HAVING SUCH A BIG THICKNESS RANGE (20 MM TO 400 MM.) ?
WE BELIVE THAT THE SOAKING TEMPERATURE SHOULD BE VARIABLE WITH THICKNESS.AND BECAUSE OF THIS WE FOUND LOWER TENSILE STRENGTH.AND SUPPLIER HAS MENTIONED WRONG VALUES OF TENSILE STRENGTH IN TEST CERTIFICATE.HE HAS CHEATED US.
WILL ANY ONE THROW LIGHT ON THIS.
