What is general difference between MAWP & Design pressure? Which & when they are applicable for the same vessel?

The design pressure is the pressure the user puts into the UDS. The MAWP is the maximum allowable working pressure at the top of the vessel which you´ll find on the nameplate.

additionally
MAWP is pressure top of the vessel considering at given thk of vessel. i.e
Design pressure id 50bar(g). At this pressure Shell THk required = 45mm. & actually thk used is 46 mm. Now, based on this 46 mm, perform reverse calculation & find the pressure. that Pressure would be call as MAWP of that component.

MAWP is each component to be evaluated & governing(smallest) to be certified as MAWP of vessel @top.
