Dear all,

This refers to UG-99(h),

wherein code recommends to have difference of 17 degree C in hydrotest liquid temperature & MDMT.

here I would like to know that it is refered as rated MDMT or
Equipment MDMT.

I have case wherein my Equipment MDMT is 16 deg.C

Shall I increase temperature of water to 16 + 17 = 33 Deg C if water is at 25 deg.C.I know it is just recommendation not mandatory.

Or I can consider rated MDMT here.

Please share or views on that.

It is the MDMT as shown on name plate i-e vessel MDMT.

MDMT + 17 C is not mandatory, it is recommended figure.

In Div.1 this is a recommendation only. I recommended my manufacturers to write in their procedure: 17 °C above the calculated MDMT. The Team Leader ASME warmly agreed.
