Question-1: In one of our PQR coupon there is a open discontinuity of 4mm(in weld ) noticed in Side Bend. When we decided to make an alternate specimen it is not practicable to locate it near the failed specimen location? If not practicable what is the alternative?

Question-2: For ASME Sec IX one additional specimen(alternative for failed specimens) is enough or two required?

Code:
Alternatively, if adequate material of the original test coupon exists, additional test specimens may be removed as close as practicable to the original specimen location to replace the failed test specimens.
