Can any one confirm to me that,it is mandatory to register with National Board if the pressure vesels are to be installed (may be a stock item) in US or canada?

A National Board registration is not always mandatory.
It depends on the jurisdiction of the US-State or Canadian Territory, where the vessel is to be installed, whether a NB registration is required or not.
So first you have to look at the local laws/requirements.
Most of the US States will require a NB registration.
In Canada a NB registration often is required for vessels manufactured outside Canada.

(It is also possible that a NB registration is required by the Qaulity Control System of the manufacturer or by the customer/purchaser of a vessel.)

Dear all,

following situation:
We have to supply a pressure vessel (surface condenser) to Canada/Province SASKETCHEWAN. Positive on this order is that SASKETCHEWAN is the only province where no CANADIAN REGISTRATION NUMBER (CRN) is available. The only Requirenment is that the manufacturer is (of course) an U- Stamp Holder AND the vessel should be registrated by the NATIONAL BOARD.
Now to my question:
One of our suppliers is U- Stamp Holder. How is the procedure to registrate this pressure- vessel by the NB?
And now to the most important question:
Normally, are there any cost impacts for the registration (PRE- Inspection; Dsign- Check; whatever....)?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

Best Regards Tim

Tim,

Mr. Wegener said it well as far as NB registration. If you decided to registered your vessel to the National Board, you need to send the completed copy of the ASME Code Data Report and a fee.

Hallo leem817,

thank you for your quick answer. ASME Code Data Report and a fee sounds not very bad...

So, I think in this case it´s less complicated in comparison to the CRN- Registration...

Best regards

Tim
