Dear All,

While designing column Available Bolt Area is a function of Size and No.
The design will show safe in PVelite if one can take either Large size & Less no. or Least Size and Large no.

How one can Optimise the result in a practical way?
Is height of vessel a governing criteria?

According to me there are sevearal variable associated with it-

Bolt spacing criteria as per TEMA
Bolt size
Bolt No.
Skirt Th
How one can corelate all these.
