Deep,

It is not scope of Division 1 to guide the designer about the orientaion of nozzle with process design point of view.
Normally, 150 mm elevation is adopted but it depends upon the flange nominal size.

The elevation of nozzle is determined by the nozzle project, when we create one opening in the shell or head, you can suppost the elevation and oritation. but the following requirements should be met:
1.requirements of ASME SEC.VIII DIV.1UG-36 to UG-53.
2.DN≤25mm,and the Projection length(exclusive of flange) is more than 150mm
or DN=32~50, the Projection length (exclusive of flange) is more than 200mm
the nozzle should be reinforced.
about the oritation, in my oponion, should be determined by instrument and processing engineer.
