Dear All,

P355GH has been adopted by Section VIII-1 in Edition 2010 under part UCS. Its allowable stresses are not given in Table 1A of Section II-D. So how to take allowable stresses for this material?
Its yield strength values at different temperature are provided in EN 10028, tensile strength only provided at room temperature. So with this info, we cannot apply Appendix 1 of Section II-D to determine the allowable stresses because this information is not complete.
Any idea about this?

Same story is about its use in Section VIII-2, Table 5A does not provide its allowable stress value.

Nasir,

Looks like it can not yet be used in pressure retaining applications.

Dear Sir,

We have confirmed about P355GH application in Section VIII-1 and Section VIII-2 construction from Hartford Steam Boilers (that is our AIA). They confirmed that this material has been accepted by ASME for VIII-I and VIII-2 construction. The problem is,VIII-1 and VIII-2 has published it in Edition 2010 but Section IX and Section II-A and Section II-D has not published it yet, this is real problem. Respective ASME Committees have been notified about it by HSB. This problem still not solved in Addenda 2011. As you know this was the last addenda of ASME BPVC. We would be able to use this material in Edition 2013 unless Code Case is passed before 2013 Edition.Thank you for your attention.
