What material is this? Is the calibration block is the same material you examined? Is there any side drilled hole or notches in the cal block? Do you have a right setting for the UT scope? Did you follow the UT procedure?

It can be. UT is not the best method to detect porosity. The reflection of a sphere (pore) is one point only.
