Qn 1: Where I will get the explanation for Pressure retaining & non pressure retaing parts? how to differentiate them?

Qn 2: TEMA standards are still used to manufacture Heat exchangers? or ASME Sec 8 is used in place of TEMA?

Q1. Please refer to paragraph U-1 of Section VIII Div. 1. The scope of the Code is defined there.

Q2. TEMA is a standard used to purchase Heat Exchangers. If you read the text, you will see that it says, the HX shall be Code stamped, if not excluded. Further more the designformula for the tubesheet was shifted to the non-mandatory rules, now UHX paragraphs from Section VIII Div. 1 are governing.
TEMA is not useless because it specifies corrosion allowances and toleranes, etc.
