Dear Experts,
Our sub-contractor is preparing the shop drawings of a vertical vessel, due to the number of nozzles, the circumferential weld joint will be 65mm distant from the 2 joints of two nozzle's (C2& HH)reinforcing pads.
What is the minimum distance to respect bewteen a circumferential welding joint and a nozzle pad joint?? (Design code ASMEVIII Div 1 NACE MR 0175)
I know that for piping, the distance is 5 times pipe Wall thickness.

Thanks

UW-14 gives information about openings in or adjacent to welds.
As far as I know there are no requirements for the distance from reinforcement pad welds to circumferential welds.
Of course you have to keep in mind that they don't limit the NDE examination that may be required on the circumferential weld.
