I Have a job with MDMT -34 Deg C and plate material is 25 mm thick. Impact test of base material is exempted as per UG 20(f) & UCS 66(a).
My query is
1. Whether I need to us Weld procedure with impact test to -34 Deg C ?

2. Is it required to use production test coupon in production weld ?

3. If I use weld consumable which is impact tested at colder temperature than MDMT does UCS 67 exempt me from using both impact tested weld procedure and production test coupon ?

Not required by UCS 67

Not required by UG 84 (i)(2)

Not applicable, you can use PQR without impact testing

Start from the beginning please.
UG 20(f) exempts for temp -29 °C and warmer
UCS 66(a) curve D for temp. -31 and warmer

You have to apply other Para. to exempt from impact testing.
