There is a pressure vessel for which PWHT is mandatory as a service requirement as per UW-2.
For the same vessel, head needs to be stress relieved as per UCS-79(d) because fiber elongation obtained in calculation of the head is more than 5%.
Under such a scenario is it necessary to separately perform stress relieving of the head when the complete vessel is to be post weld heat treated (Normalized) later on?
