Our client is insisting on the PWHT of the Tube to tubesheet joint, which we feel is not required as per Table UCS-56 Notes 2 ( c ) (2) of ASME Code, even if the service is lethal.please clarify ?
Tube dia is 25.4 mm x 2.11 thk,its a strength weld joint with a Fillet size of 1.5 mm & groove depth of 1.5 mm and light expansion.

I believe both tubesheet and tubes are P.No.1 materials. You are true PWHT is not required by Code rules. But if client insists, you can do at extra cost.
If expansion is carried out before welding, WPS would be requalified, see QW-288.

Thanks Javed for your reply,

These are P.no.1 materials ,and what if the Heat Exchanger is in Sour service.
Also these are TEMA BES,BEU types.
