Dear All,
I have a PQR where soaking temperature is recorded as 600 Deg C for P1 Material for 16 mm Thick Test Piece. In WPS Variables are written in ranges. Is it possible to write a range in WPS based on QW 407

Regards,
Prasanna

of course accoring to QW-407/

my opinion

but if without impact test required, no range is given for the Time/

QW-407.1 is about the type of PWHT, so the rang of Temperature shall meet the same group/

Paul,

there is a range given with Impacts: at least 80% of the aggregated time at temperature.
And we suggest to consider possible repair scenarios into the 80%!!

So a WPS should always indicate ranges, otherwise we have the inspection dilemma: When the WPS states 2 hours HT, and the Code for the welded thickness requires 2h15' the Inspector can not accept the weldment.
With impacts it is even more difficult to inspect.

if used for Section III

80% of time of production is required/

otherwise to the inspection of product, it shall according to UCS-56 for Pwht
