Where do I find the tolerance for the wall thickness and out of round of a Torisherical Head? What im doing is making different scenarios of defects in attempt to navigate and apply code rules; I’m trying to train my self on ASME.
Any help or recommendations will be appreciated perhaps a simple example would also be usefull.

As long as you mean SecVIII-1, go to UG-81.

For the thickness, refer to UG-16(c) for mill undertolerance. Note that the "design thickness" mentioned in that paragraph is the sum of the required thickness, thinning allowance and corrosion allowance.

So I have a SHELL with and inside DIA range of 24 1/8” to 23 7/8” would I use 24” as the nominal?
So am I correct in saying that the outside limit is .300 and the inside limit is .150?
I may be way off…..but willing to learn.

if a head is ordered to a thickness of .125 and the design thk is .125 and I receive a head that is .118 throughout the whole piece this would be acceptable anything more is rejectable , but if the material spec allows undertolerace greater then 6% or .01" the ordered mat should be increased to guarantee that the plate if supplied @ the minimum material thickness (still in spec for plate material) will not exceed the .01 or 6% under tolerance for the design thickness.
Again just trying to learn :?
Would all this apply to a spun head?
