Referring to addenda 2009 of ASME Section I, PG-35 gives rules for reinforcement calcualtions in flat stayed/unstayed circular flat plates for a maximum opening that does not exceed half the daimeter/short span of the flat plate.
When the opening diameter exceeds the above limit, PG-35 refers to PG-16.1 that further refers to other design codes/FEA or to PG-18 that further refers to A-22 for a burst test.
My question is is there any design code that deals with openings of such a size? any ASME or Non-ASME code ?

Regards,

Nasir
