hello,buddies,

I got a NCR about RT defects wihch have been through repair welding for three times in the same area ,so i wanna know that is there any controlled requirement from ASME for the number of reweld or repair?
I think that is not a technical issue but a quality control issue. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Dephy,

It could be a technical problem. You said three times rejected by RT. Is this the same welder? Have you reviewed the WPS maybe you need to change some welding technique ie travel speed, fit up gap, electrode size, amperage, etc.

What kind defect you encounter? lack of fusion, porosity, lack of penetration, cracked, lack of bonding. You may need to cut and removed the entire weld and assigned another welder or welders and star all over again.
Good luck.

Lee
