I plan to construct a pressure vessel consisting of of three parts.
- a welded head
- a welded pressure vessel jacket
- a casted pressure (ductile iron; SA - 395 ) vessel bottom.

The pressre vessel will be manufactured in a series of about 100 per year.
The complete pressure vessel will be bolted together at the manufacturer of the welded head and jacket. This manufacturer is a holder of the ASME Certificate - U.

What are the requirements the foundry of the casted pressure vessel bottom has to fullfill, so that the manufacturer of the complete vessel can easily integrate the bottom?
- the ASME Certificate - U ?
- provide Form U-2 or U - 2A

None of the above. Foundry supplies cast iron as material. In accordance with the requirements of Sec.II/A.
The stampholder transforms material in pressure vessel. Mauro

Please note that cast iron is not permitted in Sect.VIII Div.2. However MDR Forms quoted refer to Div.1. So I presume this question was wrong addressed to Sect. VIII Div.2

Thank you for your reply.
I noticed that my question is in the wrong Forum index.
I'm sorry.
I asked this question also in the Forum Index: .., Devision 1 -Pressure Vessels.
At the moment I have not the possibility to read ASME Code Sec. II.
Where else can I find out which requirements the part manufacturer has to fullfill?
