Dear all
In base plate design, procedure given in Moss book (included in PV Elite) considers clamped or fixed boundary condition at the web location.

1. Does the Moss procedure considers any role of ribs (welded perpendicular to central web)in the base plate thickness calculation

2. In case of overturning case, how to differentiate between saddle supported on foundation and saddle supported on structure - please note that modular ratio n1 (steel to concrete) is used in constant k2 in this case

Can anyone clarify the above doubts please
