Does the root-reinforcement of the pipe single-v weld requires to be VT inspected? you know,for some pipe weld with small diameter, It's hardly to perform the VT to the inside reinforcement of weld of pipe weld. Is there any special instruction or methods to check it?

I can not think of any code requirements for the VT of the root reinforcement. If the weld is to be radiographed excessive root penetration or reinforcement will be visible on the film. For small diameter piping I use a small inspection mirror to inspect the root. measuring the reinforcement will be difficult.
